Idea & Tasks

Idea & Tasks

  1. Create a smooth and quick process of applying for a loan both on a smartphone and on a desktop

  2. Develop a convenient platform for users, where they can track the repayment date, check loan details, pay off or extend the loan

  3. Attract new customers to the My O! application through the web platform

Challenges

Challenges

I knew nothing about loans, I've never got any in my life. Also, the whole process of getting a loan was not simple technically and had some obstacles from the antifraud points. Additionaly, the company itself had no experience of dealing with such web platfroms before (all the loans were available only inside My O! application). So, the question was how to deal with non-app clients, how to synchronise all the processes, how to make it convenient for the new users and then attract them to the app. Moreover, there was no UI Kit at all and as the only designer on the project I created it from scratch.

Research & Analysis

Research & Analysis

Firstly, I made my own research to understand how loans work. Secondly, I applied for the loan through My O! application and defined the weak points from my perspective. Thirdly, I did competitor analysis to understand what other offers Kyrgyz market advises and also difined the advantages and disadvantages. Additionaly, I relied on the users' feedback I got from loan managers and operators who dealt with the clients personally.

Product architecture

Product architecture

I divided the entire product into 2 major parts:

  • user authorisation and identification

  • personal account with open loan. It includes loan details, documents, history and profile settings

Each part had its own logic.

User scenarios

User scenarios

The were two entry points for the user:

  • the filled application form on the marketing landing page

  • the button "Personal account" in the landing page's header

For the first scenario the user can see the amount and the duration of the loan they chose. For the second scenario there is no pre-filled information. Then both scenarios lead to the identification process where the user scans the passport, make a photo and check necessary information.

After it, the bank either approves the desired amount of money, proposes different amount of money (less or more), or reject the application.

If the application is successful, the user picks the preferred way of getting money and receives it within 5 minutes.

Here the scenario branches again:

  • flow for the non-app clients

  • flow for the app clients

If the user is not an app client, then we create a personal account for them within the app automatically, so as to synchronise the loan processes.

So, the whole process takes about 15 minutes, it's fast for a loan flow.

UI Kit

UI Kit

I determined the essential components for the project:

  • header and footer with its variations

  • language switch (because the platform should be available in two languages: Kyrgyz and Russian)

  • textfields and cells

  • buttons

Then I added others while working on the project. I also wrote a documentation for the project and made all the screens responsible on a smartphone.
